M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University is a regional multidisciplinary higher education institution that provides training for specialists in higher and postgraduate education: Bachelor’s degree – 87 specialties, PhD – 14 specialties.
M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University with its more than 70 years history is a multi-profile HEI of Kazakhstan with developed educational and research infrastructure. It is at the top of the national ranking and positions itself as a popular brand in higher education of Kazakhstan. The university trains specialists for organizations and enterprises of south region, among them South-Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Kyzyl-Orda oblasts with population of 4.5 m. people (26% of Kazakhstan population) In 2004 M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University was certificated in quality management system to meet ISO 9001:2000 requirements. In 2008 the university passed institutional accreditation in National Accreditation Center of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In ASIIN agency (Germany) 13 study programs of chemical-technological and informational technology profile have passed international accreditation. The specialities were awarded a label “Eurobachelor” and EUR-ACE.
The training of specialists is carried out in 88 specialities according to undergraduate program, 56 specialities according to Master’s program and 14 specialities according to doctorate PhD program. More than 16500 students study at the University. SKSU holds the 2nd place among HEIs of Kazakhstan in the number of educational grants for two years in succession for first-year students. There are 13 faculties, a college, 7 scientific-research institutions, 38 scientific laboratories, 9 research centres, 80 training research industrial complexes, Regional technopark, business incubator, office of commercialization. Accredited Regional laboratory of engineering profile and test centre “Sapa” function in the University.
